#179. Skoop : OTR - Samuel L. Jackson to appear as Nick Fury

Samuel L. Jackson (pic) has signed a long-term deal to play Marvel character Fury in a slew of upcoming films including the sequel to 2008 hit Iron Man, reports said last week. Jackson, the 60-year-old star of Pulp Fiction and the final three Star Wars films, appeared as superspy Nick Fury in a brief cameo towards the end of last year’s Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr.

Talks to reprise the role however had stalled over disagreement concerning terms for Jackson.Daily Variety said an agreement had now been thrashed out that would see Jackson play Fury in Iron Man 2 with an option to also appear in up to nine other Marvel superhero films, including Captain America, and Thor.Jackson was most recently seen in comic book film The Spirit and drama-comedy Soul Men (which begins its run in Malaysia this week).
