Director Alex Proyas searches for an original angle with his latest doomsday film, Knowing.
IT’S not my thing at all, said Australian film director Alex Proyas (The Crow, I, Robot) about “remakes” and “reboots”. These are the buzz-words in the Hollywood film industry currently as more and more new film projects are remakes, while new films based on old film franchises but with a completely new take on films such as Batman and James Bond are considered reboots. And then there are films which are either adapted from popular books, comic books, cartoon shows or video games.
Long before comic-book adaptations were popular in Hollywood, Proyas made his feature film debut The Crow which was released in 1994, an adaptation of the cult-comic book of the same name by James O’Barr.
