As Hollywood gets ready to pay tribute to sterling performances in the forthcoming Academy Awards on Feb 22, movie fans will get the chance to watch Oscar nominated movies at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC).From Feb 19 to March 4, selected Oscar nominated movies will be screened at GSC Mid Valley, GSC Pavillion KL, GSC 1Utama and GSC Gurney Plaza.

Movie fans here can get into the hype of the Oscars by competing in GSC’s “Oscar Winning Prediction” contest online.Simply log on to www.gsc.com.my and predict the winners of the following categories: Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress; Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Animated Feature Film, Best Cinematography and Best Music (Score).

Complete the slogan “My best Oscar moment is ... (in less than 15 words)” and get a chance to win an Oscar Movie Goodie Bag, GSC Movie vouchers as well as other premiums by GSC. The contest started on Feb 5 and all entries must be submitted online before Feb 18.

Catch the likes of Slumdog Millionaire, nominated for seven awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Original categories.

The highly anticipated movie is scheduled to be screened in participating GSC cinemas from today.

Popular Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have movies nominated for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Changeling.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is nominated for seven awards including Best Actress, Best Cinemato-graphy’and Best Art Direction while Jolie’s Changeling is nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Cinematography at the Oscars.

These movies will be sold at normal ticket prices while older movies like The Dark Knight, Tropic Thunder and animation movies Bolt and Wall-E will be sold at RM5 each.

Starting from Feb 19, movie goers who purchase four tickets for the movie Bolt from the participating cinemas will receive a complimentary Bolt boxed notepad, while stocks last.

Also, watch out for upcoming Oscar nominees; The Reader starting on March 5, Revoluntionary Road on April 16 and Frost/Nixon on April 30.
